Music research (part 2)

Another track that I found was 'Brunuhville - The Eternal forest' -

I thought this video would go well with our thriller as the single ringing bells which is featured at the start of the song can give an eerie but emotional feel to the film, giving the audience a sense of grief over the Jess who has been murdered by Michael and is waiting for her burial.  Another way in that this song would go well with our thriller is that after the 4 bells have rung, the final (fourth) bell strikes at the same time Jess's hand twitches and leaves the audience in shock as Jess is not dead and the audience wants to know what happens next, leaving them with a peaceful piano solo playing while the credits show, leaving the song playing in their mind after the film has finished.  At 2:27 the piano starts to play which can help with the eerie but also pleasant atmosphere as it relieves the audience that Jess is still alive and that there is still hope for her. 

Second soundtrack: - "Creeping in the Wood"

 
This track however would also go well in our film when it is used through out the film and during the flashbacks.  This track would be good to be used in the flashbacks as it gives the audience a feel of a dream and that they are taken back with Michael and given the feeling that they are him, seeing everything he sees and feeling what he feels, this because of the slow melody almost 'slowing down time' in a way because Michael has this great jealousy over the couple that the music is chilling and spooky, reflecting his jealousy in the same way.

Thriller music research

I have found this song which I thought would fit into our thriller production as the start of the song where the bells are ringing could be used at the end when Michael is digging a hole with the girlfriend's body on the side, and this music could symbolise a memorial for the girl, making the audience believe that she is dead and that it is all over.

The pace of the song could also be good in our thriller as when Michael is following the couple and lurking in the background, the song's slow tempo plays as a part to slow the pace down of the film, making it feel longer, which makes the the audience intigue for the moment of attack.

The music over all plays a part to turn the film eerie as the music is slow but gentle in a way that is causes the film to feel terrifying as it represents the fear of stalkers and the city in the dark, causing the audience to fear what could lurk in the city at night.

The different angles and colour effeccts could change the way we view everyday objects, through either the angle they are positioned at, or the colour effect that is used.  I have used the 'Noir' effect a few times to show 'vintage' in the shots, to make them look old but also shows it's 'lifeless' as there is no colour shown.  I have also used the 'Noir' effect in hallways and doors.  I used the same effect here as it creates a 'nightmare' like atmosphere and that makes the photo look haunted (as well as using a tilt with the effect).  The 'process' effect on the hallway was used to make the photo look almost like an illusion, and if the person viewing this are in a dream.  This creates a 'fantasy' and that everything is seen to be  enchanced by the colour

 

The camera angles and positions that I used such as; tilt, high angle shot, low angle shot and close ups create a status or an atmosphere to the object/scene.  The use of low anf high angles create a status that the object is powerful/more important than you are and that it makes you feel vunerable, where as the high angle shot makes the object seem small and vunerable.  The close up camera I used to show seriousness or a focus upon the object that I took the picture of, as an example of the darts and the dart board; - I used a close up on it to show where the darts were, the points scored and also the detail within the close up image.
